TieSwitcher - Terex TW 110
The TieSwitcher is a 4-wheel drive, 4-wheel crab steer multi-purpose machine that is designed to accept a variety of attachments. This machine can function as a tool carrier front-end loader that has parallel lift linkage that also functions as a hydraulic excavator that swings 360°. The excavator boom has a boom-offset feature to provide lateral parallel adjustment at full digging depth. This feature allows the machine to work parallel to the railroad track while the machine is on rail. The front-end loader linkage and excavator boom are both equipped with quick couplers for quick changing of attachments.
The TieSwitcher is comes standard with guide wheels, parallel linkage out and down rear outriggers with rail clamps. The machine also has additional hydraulic functions and controls to operate various hydraulic operated track maintenance attachments.
The TieSwitcher is designed to function as a complete railroad maintenance system. The machine can perform any track or tie maintenance job by using various material buckets and the special railroad attachments. The TieSwitcher has been designed for use in conjunction with a dump truck equipped with Mitchell Flexiride RailGear so materials can be efficiently distributed on rail such as new ballast.
The TieSwitcher is designed to handle wood or concrete ties. Special neoprene tie pads are used for concrete ties.
