Model 1010 WT Rail Gear fits trucks up to 12,500 GVW. The Rail Gear adapts to trucks for the purpose of traveling on the highway or railway.
The Rail Gear is hydraulically raised and lowered by a dual self contained hydraulic pumps that are installed on the rail gear assemblies that are activated by either cab controlled electric switch or push a push button control located on each end of the vehicle. The Rail Gear utilizes Mitchell’s 4-Wheel Independent Flexiride® Suspension system that does not require adjustment for varying payloads up to the maximum gross vehicle weight of the truck.
The Rail Gear can be ordered either hydraulic operation or mechanical operation. The only difference between the mechanical or hydraulic version is a few interchangeable parts. The lower costs mechanical operation uses a crank mechanism that requires very little effort because of the mechanical advantage built into the design.
The Rail Gear mechanically locks over-center and comes standard with mechanical safety pins that are used in the retracted position. The Rail Gear comes standard with precision-machined forged 10-inch diameter rail wheels that can be upgraded to Mitchell’s composite rail wheels that reduce railhead noise. The rail Gear comes with Rail Gear bumpers front and rear that have cutouts to accept lights. The front rail gear comes with sight rods.
The front and rear Rail Gear units are identical modular units. The rail Gear kits comes complete with mounting brackets, built-in de-rail skids, steering wheel lock, wheel adapters and Accuride® Rims.
