Description:

Introducing Mitchell's Backhoe Boom Hoist – Enhance Precision Lifting Capabilities

In addition to Mitchell's Backhoe Loader Rail Gear, we proudly offer the Backhoe Boom Hoist attachment, designed to provide precision lifting capabilities akin to a crane's hoist. Many projects that require exacting lifts may not necessitate a full-fledged RT Crane or Carry Deck Crane; instead, they can be efficiently executed with a hi-rail backhoe equipped with our hydraulic hoist attachment.

A backhoe stands as an incredibly versatile piece of equipment widely used in railroads. Typically, when lifting is required, operators attach a chain to the bucket and rely on the boom's up-and-down motion for lifting purposes. However, this approach lacks the precise control that a hydraulic hoist can deliver.

Key Hoist Specifications:

  • 4,000 lbs. line pull on the 1st layer at a rate of 72 feet per minute, or 8,000 lbs. when double wrapped.
  • Full drum line pull of 3,098 lbs. at a speed of 92 feet per minute.
  • Requires 2,250 PSI at 11 GPM for maximum performance.
  • Equipped with a dependable hydraulic gear motor.
  • Features a high-efficiency planetary reduction system immersed in a continuous oil bath.
  • Boasts a completely sealed construction, eliminating exposed bearings or shaft surfaces.
  • Stainless steel drum surfaces enhance corrosion resistance.
  • Comes with a 4-ton single-sheave snatch block featuring a swivel hook.
  • The hook is forged from alloy and heat-treated for durability.
  • Includes a 4.5-inch diameter sheave with a roller bearing.
  • Options are available for a Fairlead roller.

Experience the unmatched precision and efficiency of Mitchell's Backhoe Boom Hoist, revolutionizing your lifting capabilities for railroad projects.
