At the heart of this system lies our retractable Friction Drive Hi-Rail Gear, meticulously integrated into the Jarraff's frame. This ingenious design preserves the crane's primary functionality of tree trimming while equipping it to operate effectively as a railroad tree trimmer. Our engineers have meticulously tailored the system to ensure a perfect fit for Jarraff Tree Trimmers, delivering outstanding performance both on the ground and on the railroad track.
The rail wheels are equipped with a friction drive hub that engages with the tires, harnessing tire rotation to propel the machine on the the railroad track. This robust mechanical friction drive system is renowned for its reliability, utilizing the existing road axle drive line and braking system for both propulsion and braking on the rails. While on the tracks, hydraulic locking ensures precise alignment between the tires and the friction drive hubs, guaranteeing traction and safety. Additionally, our system includes a hydraulic articulation lock system that lets the operator know when the front and rear rail wheels are in alignment and locks the machine straight for rail travel.
The system is provided with FRA lighting and optional insulated rail wheels.
